2 that Nebula showed any hint of heroism, but she fully embraced the light in Avengers: Infinity War before joining the team in Avengers: Endgame. It wasn’t until Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. The amazing thing about Nebula in the MCU is that the movies redeemed a comic book character who was an unrepentant villain. Thanks to that ability, and the fact that his suit is basically impregnable, Black Panther is a tougher opponent than he may seem to be if you only look at his power set. His suit allows him to absorb the energy from the blows that he is attacked with, and then rebound them on his opponents. With the help of his sister Shuri, though, he becomes even stronger than that. On his own, T’Challa is a powerful warrior with enhanced speed and strength. Black Pantherīlack Panther is a lot like Captain America but with better technology, a badass royal family, and a country that’s the most technologically advanced in the MCU continuity. They make a great team, but Hope’s natural ability makes her a better asset for the Avengers, especially since many of the team’s more powerful characters are either dead or no longer active Avengers. The thing that gives Hope the edge over Scott is that she is much better at utilizing her powers than he is, and she has unshakable confidence that the current Ant-Man lacks. It’s true that aside from flight, the Wasp’s powers are essentially the same as Ant-Man’s shrinking and growing abilities. Regardless, Hope quickly proved herself in battle and even fought side by side with all of the other female Avengers. In the MCU, Janet’s daughter, Hope van Dyne, didn’t get to join the team until late in the third act of Avengers: Endgame. The original Wasp, Janet van Dyne, was one of the founding members of the Avengers. He still has some weaknesses, but if you were building out a superhero army, you’d almost certainly want Ant-Man to be on your team. As Giant-Man, he was able to take on Kang the Conqueror’s forces and overthrow his whole empire in Quantumania. His ability to enter the Quantum Realm, coupled with the ultra-strength he gets from becoming really small, makes him a surprisingly powerful Avenger.Īll of that is true even before we get into the fact that he’s also capable of becoming a literal giant. Ant-ManĪnt-Man is objectively a superhero, but it’s the quantum technology that his suit is based on that ultimately allows the Avengers to unlock time travel. While we’ve gotten a sense of what Groot can do, it seems like there’s more power yet to be mined from within him that could earn him an even higher spot on this list. Without Groot, Stormbreaker wouldn’t exist, and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy would all be dead. As we’ve seen throughout his appearances in the MCU, Groot can grow his limbs and break them off, and by using this ability, he can create both defensive shields and highly effective weapons. Groot may be just a tree, but he’s a pretty powerful tree. However, if Fury fails to repel the invasion, we have faith that the Avengers will eventually save the planet. Before we update our rankings of the most powerful members of the MCU’s Avengers, we want to give a shout-out to the Avengers’ founder, Nick Fury, who will sorely miss his team in this summer’s Disney+ event series, Secret Invasion.
